4:16 PM Windows users will be able to upgrade their PCs to Windows 8 Pro for just $40. That's notably less than the $50 and $99 Microsoft (MSFT) respectively charged to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Pro, and drives home the company's interest in seeing rapid adoption of the OS and its Metro UI.
